FAQ
-
How long does the process take?
The entire process typically takes 4-6 months from the time we receive your flowers. This timeline may vary depending on the complexity of your order and my current order volume.
-
What is the ordering process?
First, email me at sarah.d.leist@gmail.com with the date of your wedding, to confirm my availability to receive your flowers. Once I confirm my availability, you can submit your order. After I receive your order, I will send my exact address (Export, PA) and phone number so we can set a drop-off day and time.
-
What if my event has already happened?
I often have clients reach out after an event has already occurred, wondering if it is too late to have their flowers preserved. I am often still able to accept the flowers! Send me an email at sarah.d.leist@gmail.com and include a picture of the flowers in their current state.
-
How should I care for the flowers until I drop them off?
Keep flowers in a vase of fresh water at all times following your event. Refrigeration is not necessary, but a cool, dark location is preferable. Flowers age when exposed to heat, sunlight, or lack of hydration. It is best to drop off flowers in the 1-3 days following an event.
-
How do I care for my pressed flower frame once it is completed?
Choose a location to hang your frame that is free of heat, sunlight, and moisture. Avoid windows, bathrooms, and hot kitchens.
-
Will the flowers in my frame change over time?
As in nature, all flowers and foliage change. I believe that there is beauty in those changes that mark the passage of time. However, I do implement several key strategies to prevent fading. My frames are completely airtight and sealed using silver solder and the Tiffany Technique used by stained glass artists. In addition, I now implement color-restoration for petals that are known to change color rapidly - white, pink, yellow, and orange in particular.
-
Why is there no chain on the larger frames?
I do not include chains with the larger 10 × 12 and 12 × 16 frames due to the combined weight of two panes of glass and silver solder. These frames are too heavy to be supported by a chain. If a chain is important to you, we can discuss a creative solution.
-
How do you create the silver frame?
I use what is known as the Tiffany Technique in stained glass artistry. Combining copper, flux, and silver solder and then applying heat via a soldering iron, I create a metal frame with airtight protection for your flowers. Your heirloom frame is created by me from start to finish.

Can I give input on the design?

-
